Sometimes an idea needs a "home" and the first
challenge is to identify suitable candidate sites from among many potential areas
in a region. GIS tools can be used to analyze a wide variety of regional data
to derive locations which most closely match the siting criteria for a particular
objective, be it a New Town, a housing project or a regional park.
