Kuwait Municipality GIS Implementation Support

The Kuwait Municipality Planning Department has undertaken the implementation of a comprehensive GIS capability in the form of a new proposed "Master Plan and GIS Center." The Municipality chose ESRIs family of products as the best technology to support their important role in the ongoing management and direction of urban growth into the next millennium. The Master Plan and GIS Center is proposed to carry on the objectives and policies of the 3rd Kuwait Master Plan (3KMP) which is currently being completed.

GPC is providing the Municipality with ongoing support in the preparation and implementation of their GIS capability. The initial system will be focused on providing planning related data and thematic mapping for decision makers within various departments and the Municipal Council. The Department will eventually act as a GIS service bureau to other groups throughout the Municipality.
